Customer reviews of Personalised Tree Skirt
The whole family thought the snowman design was adorable for the holiday setup.
really cute addition to christmas
Unpacked this yesterday and placed it under the tree. It adds a nice festive touch to the room and seems well made for the price.
The fabric feels decent and it sits nicely around the base of our artificial tree.
Got this laid out under the living room tree yesterday and it really finishes off the corner nicely. The snowman print looks very sweet and cheerful.
What Is a Christmas Tree Skirt?
A personalised tree skirt is a circular piece of fabric arranged around the base of a Christmas tree. Also known as a tree stand cover or tree base mat, it conceals the stand and decorates the area beneath the presents. It may also hide some visible cables, but does not replace tidy cable storage or safe installation of Christmas lights.
Early coverings had a practical purpose: catching wax drips when candles decorated Christmas trees. Fabric skirts also collect fallen needles. Today, this decoration completes the tree's appearance. It forms a base around the trunk and conceals the stand between the presents.
At Custom Chic, personalised Christmas tree skirts use 320 gsm flannel and DTG printing, which prints directly onto the fabric. Flannel feels soft to the touch. Its gsm measures the fabric's mass per square metre, rather than its thickness. The whole surface is printable, while personalisation fields vary between styles.
Family, Granny and sibling themes connect this decoration with the people gathering around your tree at Christmas.

What Size Personalised Tree Skirt Should You Choose?
Your personalised tree skirt size depends on the stand's width, the spread of the lowest branches and the available floor space. Tree height is a useful starting point, but two trees of the same height may have very different shapes.
Before ordering, measure the widest part of the stand, then the area you want to cover. Allow enough clearance from furniture and walkways, too. A tree skirt for christmas tree stands should cover the base without blocking the route through the room.
When choosing a Christmas tree skirt, consider how much fabric to show. A discreet personalised tree skirt stays mostly beneath the branches; a wider diameter shows more fabric. You do not need a 15 cm (5.9 in) extension beyond the branches in every setup: the desired effect and available space matter more.
Our xmas tree skirts come in 72, 90 and 120 cm diameters (28.35, 35.43 and 47.24 in). Each personalised Christmas tree skirt size covers a different floor area, so measure your setup before deciding.
Small Christmas Tree Skirts for Compact Trees
Start with our 72 cm (28.35 in) diameter for a small tree or a display with limited space. For a tree under 150 cm tall (approximately 5 ft), compare this size with the stand's actual measurements before deciding.
Consider this diameter when you mainly want to cover the stand without occupying a large floor area. Measure carefully if your tree has a wide base or lower branches that spread out widely.
To visualise the footprint, mark out a 72 cm circle on the floor with a tape measure. This shows whether your personalised tree skirt has enough room and whether a few presents will fit around it.
Medium-Sized Christmas Tree Skirts
Choose the 90 cm (35.43 in) size for a medium tree, around 150–180 cm tall (approximately 5–6 ft). This height range is only a guide: always measure the stand and the space beneath the branches.
Compared with the 72 cm size, this personalised xmas tree skirt leaves more space for the artwork and presents. Choose this size if you want the skirt to remain visible without covering too much floor space.
View the tree from the sofa, living room entrance or Christmas dinner table. Personalised details facing a wall will be difficult to see, even with the right diameter.
Tree Skirts for Large Trees
Consider a 120 cm (47.24 in) personalised tree skirt for a larger tree or a display with plenty of fabric on show. For a tree around 180–220 cm tall (approximately 6 ft to 7 ft 3 in), compare this diameter with the spread of the lower branches before deciding.
This size provides more room around the stand. You might choose it if you want to arrange several presents with part of the print still on show.
Tree skirts for large trees need a clear floor area. In a tight corner, the fabric may fold against furniture. Measure the tree's final position rather than choosing by height alone.
Personalised Tree Skirts for Your Family's Festive Celebrations
A personalised tree skirt is a Christmas gift to enjoy during the festive preparations. Send it before your loved ones decorate their tree, and choose a diameter appropriate for their home.
A new home's first Christmas decorations might feature a tree skirt with family artwork. Choose a style with fields for the people represented, then add their names. If the tree size is unknown, discreetly ask about the planned space: an oversized decoration may be difficult to arrange in a small living room.
If the parents are celebrating their first Christmas with a baby, choose a tree skirt with room for everyone represented. Add the newest family member's name in the corresponding field after checking the spelling with them. If a photo option is available, use a picture in which everyone is clearly recognisable.
Our family and Granny-themed tree skirts reflect Christmas gatherings at the grandparents'. Refer to the product page for the people and names that the composition supports.
Brothers and sisters might choose a sibling-themed version as a shared decoration. Match the artwork to the actual family: choose an appropriate composition rather than adding a name in a field intended for someone else.
Personalise Your Christmas Tree Skirt at Custom Chic
Before customising your personalised tree skirt, check which fields are available on the product page. Options provided for one design do not automatically apply to every product in the collection.
-
Enter names in their corresponding fields. Follow the order in the composition and check spelling, spaces and hyphens. We recommend standard English characters; some special characters may not be supported.
-
Add a photo or gift message when that option is available. For a family photo, use a sharp image with well-lit faces. Avoid a screenshot or heavily cropped picture if the original file is available. Make sure no important face is close to a cropped edge in the composition.
-
Choose the diameter according to your measurements. The number of people shown should not be the only factor: your personalised Xmas tree skirt also needs enough room beneath the tree.
-
Click “Preview” before buying. Review your personalised tree skirt, read every name and check the cropping of each element. Actual colours may differ slightly from the screen image because of display settings and lighting.
Before checkout, review the size, quantity and all selected options. If any detail is unclear, contact Custom Chic customer service before completing your order.
For other festive decorations and presents to arrange beneath the tree, our Christmas gift collection includes several complementary ideas:
-
Personalised Christmas ornaments: complement your personalised tree skirt with decorations on the branches.
-
Personalised mugs: give a present for coffee or hot chocolate breaks.
-
Personalised doormats: extend the festive decoration to your entrance.
-
Personalised family gifts: choose a present for loved ones gathering at Christmas.
Setting Up and Storing Your Christmas Tree Skirt
First, secure the tree on a stable stand. Arrange your personalised tree skirt around the base. If your version has an opening or fastening, follow its fitting instructions. Adjust the fabric without moving the stand or pulling the Christmas light cables taut.
Smooth out creases gently, then turn the personalised section towards your usual view of the tree. Check the position before arranging the presents, while the fabric is still easy to adjust.
For visible artwork, arrange the largest presents at the sides or towards the back. Leave the names or photo unobstructed at the front. Avoid loading the fabric with objects that hinder access to the stand, particularly when caring for a real tree.
Our personalised Christmas tree skirt care instructions recommend gentle cleaning and air drying, without harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. These precautions protect both the fabric and its print.
Remove dust gently and clean marks without vigorous rubbing. After Christmas, remove fallen needles and check that the fabric is completely dry. Fold it without unnecessarily compressing the printed section, then store it somewhere clean and dry with your decorations. Before the next season, check its condition and unfold it ahead of decorating.
