DTG Printed T Shirts

DTG, or direct-to-garment printing, applies the ink directly to the fabric. We use this technique on selected personalised t-shirts front and back, including a 100% cotton format at approximately 150 gsm. It is a practical option when one printed area would feel too limiting, such as a group trip shirt, school-year design or a charity message. 

DTF Printed T Shirts

DTF printing prints the artwork onto a film first, then heat transfers it onto the fabric. We use this process for our inside-neck print T-shirts, where the design sits inside the collar rather than across the main body of the garment. That makes it a thoughtful choice for a private line from a partner, parent or friend: the wearer sees it when they put the shirt on, while the outside stays simple. 

Sublimation For All Over Prints

When a design is intended to cover the shirt as a whole, sublimation provides a different way to apply the artwork. Heat turns the dye into a gas. The gas bonds with polyester fibres instead of sitting as a separate layer on the surface.Our all over print T-shirt is made from 170 gsm polyester, which suits this printing method. Rather than working within one defined print panel, these designs can continue across the shirt as an overall design, so larger graphics or full shirt artwork can be distributed across the printable surfaces.

High-Quality Personalised T Shirts For Everyday Wear

Different T-shirt formats in our collection use different fabrics, so the weight and feel can vary from one style to another. Cotton, cotton blends and polyester each appear on specific garment types and printing formats. 

Cotton Tees For A Familiar Everyday Feel

Our Basic Tee is one of several tee shirts to print with a name, photo or message, using 100% pre-shrunk cotton, with Sport Grey using 90% cotton and 10% polyester. It is more substantial than a lightweight tee without reaching sweatshirt weight. Pre-shrunk cotton reduces the amount of initial shrinkage normally associated with untreated cotton, although washing and heat can still affect the garment over time. 

Cotton Blends For Selected Designs

The fabric used for our personalised T-shirts varies between designs, depending on the garment style and where the personalisation is printed. The inside neck message tee is made from a 200gsm cotton polyester blend, while the front and back printed style uses 150gsm cotton, and the difference is linked to the print placement of each design rather than a change across the whole range. Around the neckline, the heavier 200gsm blend gives the DTF printed message a firmer surface to sit on than the lighter cotton used elsewhere in the collection.

Polyester For All Over Prints

Our verified all-over print tee uses 170 gsm polyester with sublimation printing. Polyester is well matched to this technique, so the artwork can extend across much more of the shirt than a standard front or back print. The fabric also dries faster than cotton after washing, which can be useful for a T-shirt worn and cleaned regularly.

Choosing The Right Size For Your Custom T Shirt

Choosing the right size is easier when you compare actual garment measurements rather than relying only on S, M or L labels. Our Basic Tee chart lists the flat width and length for every size from S to 5XL. 

Each T-shirt is measured by hand, so the measurements may vary by up to ±1.0 inch (2.54 cm). Measurements can vary between a Basic Tee, youth tee, hoodie, sweatshirt and all-over print style. Youth sizes are listed separately from 3YR to 10YR, and you can check the size guide on each product page before choosing your fit.

Once you have chosen a T-shirt design, creating your personalised T-shirt involves entering the requested details, selecting the available size and colour options, then checking the preview before placing your order. 

• Step 1: Choose a T Shirt Design

Browse our personalised T shirts collection and choose a design by wearer, occasion or print style, the first step to make your own t shirt with dedicated options such as a personalised dad t shirt, a personalised cat t shirt and personalised dog t shirts for the family pet.

• Step 2: Add Your Personalised Details

Enter the details requested for the chosen design, such as a name, photo, date or short message. Please double check the spelling and use standard English characters without special symbols.

• Step 3: Choose the Colour and Size

Pick a shirt colour where the design offers one, then select a size from S to 5XL for adult styles or 3YR to 10YR for children's designs, using the measurements on our product page.

• Step 4: Preview and Check Your Design

Use the preview to check where each name, date and photo sits before you print your own t shirt design and place your order. 

Changes or cancellations can be requested within 2 hours of placing the order, and after that the personalised T shirt moves into production.

Caring Instructions for Your Personalised T Shirt

Care instructions vary between our cotton, blended and polyester T-shirt formats, so check the guidance on your chosen product before washing. Different print placements and printing methods do not always follow the same routine.

• Use a cool, gentle wash where specified: Several printed T-shirt formats recommend cold water and gentle cleaning. Selected DTF styles also state that the garment should be washed inside out.

• Keep direct heat away from the print: Do not iron directly over personalised decoration. Prolonged exposure to strong heat should also be avoided.

• Check the drying instructions: Some T-shirt formats permit tumble drying on a low setting, while others use different care guidance. Follow the instructions listed for the selected garment.

• Avoid harsh treatment: Do not bleach where the product guidance prohibits it, and avoid vigorous cleaning around personalised areas.

• Store the shirt dry: Let the garment dry fully before putting it away and keep it in a dry place away from prolonged direct sunlight.
