What Is a Personalised Colouring Blanket?
A personalised colouring blanket is a blanket featuring pre-printed black-and-white designs that you can colour in your own style. At Custom Chic, each design has black-and-white line art printed across the front for colouring with the 24 acrylic markers included in the set.
Our blankets are made from 100% premium Dralon with a soft white plush backing. There are 2 sizes to choose: 150 × 60 cm at approximately 420 g and 150 × 120 cm at approximately 740 g, based on the selected design.
Unlike an activity book or colouring poster, the finished piece has a practical use. Your child can keep their own artwork nearby for reading or watching films, while couples can use the blanket they have coloured together.
How to Use Your Colour In Blanket
Our colour in blanket arrives with the outline already printed, so you can begin with the markers from the set. Work on the printed front and allow the ink to dry fully before wrapping up in it.
-
First, the blanket is laid flat on a clean, smooth surface with the printed side facing up.
-
Next, you colour directly onto the printed design with the included acrylic markers. The set comes with 24 different colours, so you can easily mix and match shades across each detail and finish a design that feels personal.
-
After colouring, the blanket needs to remain flat while the colours settle and dry completely before it is used.
-
Once the ink dries completely, the blanket serves as a regular throw featuring a custom-finished design.
Because the artwork is printed on the fabric, marker ink sometimes bleeds slightly onto the soft white backing during colouring. Before the first wash, allow the ink to set for at least 48 hours. Wash gently in cold water with mild detergent and line dry.
Personalised Colouring Blanket Designs for Kids and Couples
Our personalised colouring blanket collection includes designs for both children and grown-ups, featuring playful illustrations, family-themed artwork and custom options tailored to various ages and interests. Each blanket combines a creative activity with a cosy accessory for everyday use.
For children, designs highlighting cute animals, cartoon characters and familiar family themes bring excitement to rainy afternoons, school holidays and birthday celebrations. Grown-ups often prefer romantic couple illustrations, family portraits or meaningful designs displaying names and personal details. These options suit everything from quiet evenings at home to shared creative moments with partners, friends or family members.
Unlike a colouring poster or activity book, the finished coloring blanket remains useful after the artwork is complete and can stay on a bed, sofa or reading corner.
Single or Double-Wide: Which Colouring Blanket Should You Choose?
The main difference is width: both formats are 150 cm long, but the double-wide version offers twice the colouring area. That affects how easily people can work together and how much coverage the blanket gives afterwards.
The table below compares the two colouring blanket sizes, including their dimensions, weight, design options and starting prices, to guide your choice.

The 150 × 60 cm Single is a compact option for individual colouring. Its smaller format is easy for children to handle and works well when the blanket is intended for one person to enjoy and use afterwards.
If you want to colour together with others, the 150 × 120 cm Double-Wide is worth considering. The wider surface accommodates multiple people comfortably on the fabric, so the activity becomes more enjoyable for siblings, families, or couples.
“Single” and “double-wide” describe these product formats, rather than standard bed sizes. The current couple’s blanket is offered in the 150 × 120 cm format.
What Is Included and How Much Does It Cost?
Each personalised colouring blanket comes with 1 blanket and 24 acrylic markers, so the set includes everything needed for the colouring activity. Prices vary depending on the chosen design and format, with kids’ designs starting from around £31.95, while blankets for adults are around £43.95. The final price differs between specific designs and blanket sizes.
Make Your Colouring Blanket Personal with Custom Chic
Our personalised colouring blanket ordering process involves three simple steps, from choosing the right size and design to adding your personal details and checking the final preview before checkout:
-
Step 1: Choose the Design and Format
First, select a design that suits the recipient's interests, ranging from playful illustrations for children to romantic themes for couples. Afterwards, pick either the 150 × 60 cm Single or 150 × 120 cm Double-Wide format depending on the required coverage.
-
Step 2: Add the Available Personal Details
Each design features specific sections where you add names, text, photos, or other custom details. These details blend with the chosen design for a truly personal colouring activity.
-
Step 3: Check the Preview
Don’t forget to review the personalised preview before adding the blanket to your basket, checking names, spelling, dates, character choices and the overall design. Standard English characters are recommended where requested by the personalisation field.
-
Step 4: Colour It After Delivery
The blanket arrives with custom line art printed on the front alongside 24 acrylic markers. Laying the fabric flat during colouring, letting the ink set for at least 48 hours, then washing in cold water with line drying ensures the artwork lasts.
